The best approach on level 89 is to closely monitor the matches you make. You should try to make horizontal matches with at least one iced piece. Vertical matches could be also be quite useful here, however, do be careful as the ice can fall down and block the tiles you need to clear.
Do not miss any chances to make power-ups. Firecrackers, bombs and Lightnings are particularly helpful on this level!
