What is Pro Leagues:ShowDown Leagues Beta builds upon the ShowDown feature and from April 22nd ShowDown Leagues will be re-named “Pro Leagues Beta”. Recording your progress across both areas as one continuous score in the form of points, you’ll be matched with players who have similar points on a weekly leaderboard. The top 6 players on the leaderboard who have reached the minimum league goal at the end of the week will move up to the next league rank! The first beta season of Leagues allowed players to rise through 7 different leagues and win up to 3 prize cars!
What’s Being Covered? In the following blog we want to walk you through the following:
- What we were trying to achieve with the ShowDown Leagues Beta
- What we have learned from the Beta thanks to your feedback
- What changes are being made to the feature moving forward
Why did we release the feature as Beta? The ShowDown Leagues Beta ran for several weeks and the aim of Leagues is to add a much bigger element to Showdown, not just in terms of prize cars but also showcasing the best racers as they crush their competition and rise through the ranks to the topmost leagues. Having Leagues release in the initial Beta format allowed us to trial how the new feature works and how it would impact you as a player. We can then gather your feedback as a community and make the necessary changes to improve the overall experience. What did we learn from the Showdown Leagues Beta?It has been great seeing so many of you get involved with the ShowDown Leagues Beta and we’ve learned a lot from our community! Here are some of the key things we’ve taken away:
- Rewards: We’ve heard from many of you that the Elite Customs parts were fewer in number within the carousel rewards in leagues as compared to the participation rewards in Showdown especially in the lower league tiers like Novice.
- Availability of Leagues Prize Cars: Many of you have told us that not having access to the beta roll-out has made you lose out on the opportunity to own the reward cars such as The PandeM V1 Toyota GR Supra, the PandeM V1.5 Toyota GR Supra, and the Rocket Bunny V2 Nissan Fairlady Z (Z33).
- Matchmaking: A lot of feedback from our community is that you guys can’t always get a race as fast as you would like, or when you do get a race it can be against an opponent who doesn’t match your ability.
Based on your feedback and our want to release the feature in its best possible form, we’ve decided to extend the Beta to allow us more time to introduce some needed improvements to ensure the feature is enjoyable and fair for everyone, this will now run a new season from April 22nd and last 14 weeks. For further changes please read on to the next section. The Changes we’re making: We have been listening to your feedback and wanted to show how we are incorporating your points into the development of the feature, and as you already know, only so many of you currently have access to the Beta. This is to ensure that we can get everything up and running to the best it can be before it is released fully. With this, we have seen some frustrations from those players on either side of the beta. The first change we will be making with the Beta is to give it a name change, from April 22nd the feature will now be known as Pro Leagues Beta.
Prizes and Participation:
- To rectify those frustrations mentioned above, we are pleased to confirm that we will be making League Tokens available within the normal ShowDown rewards, at trophy milestones 1200 and 1600. You will then be able to purchase the new Pro Leagues Beta cars from the dealership when you have enough tokens.
- As for Elite Custom parts, we have heard from many of you that these parts were fewer in number within the race rewards in Leagues as compared to the participation rewards in ShowDown, especially in the lower league tiers such as Novice. To fix this we have rebalanced the amounts of Elite Customs parts we give out within our tiers and promotion rewards to make them more accessible.
Showdown MatchmakingAnother key piece of feedback that we have heard from many of you is that you aren’t able to get into races fast enough and when you do, your opponent doesn’t always match your ability.
- We are pleased to announce that improved matchmaking adjustments are being implemented slowly so we can monitor their performance and make sure they are delivering the best in-game experience for you. These new matchmaking improvements will help to ensure faster and fairer races between players. You should start noticing these improvements happening in-game in the near future.
We’ll be bringing you many more updates around this feature as we get closer to the full release so make sure you check back on our website regularly. That’s all for now, Racers, we’ll see you on the streets of CSR2.
