Sync.ME provides high quality contact photos. It is not a dialer anddoes not control your device caller ID.
The size of caller ID photos depends on the default caller ID provided through your device and OS version. Photos will not be full screen if your device does not provide native full screen caller ID.
Photos brought in by Sync.ME are not necessarily the default Caller ID photo for your contacts. This depends on the source of your contacts’ main photo. Photos may appear from other sources and accounts that you sync in your device (such as photos from Gmail, Outlook, Facebook, etc.).
In some devices you can change the main photo by going into the contact in your address book and choosing a main photo. The method of changing the default photo from contacts is different for each android device.
If the photo was previously in high resolution:
Check the Overwrite settings. If you upgraded to a new version (or if you previously uninstalled and re-installed the app) the default overwrite setting is off, so new photos won’t be updated from Sync.ME. Turn on the Overwrite photo in order to replace the existing photos. More info about the Overwrite setting:http://bit.ly/1o4BDQT
In addition, d ifferent Android versions save contact pictures in different resolutions:
- Up to Honeycomb (3.2) – 96×96
- Ice Cream Sandwich (4.0.3-4.0.4) – 256×256
- Jelly Bean (4.1.x – 4.2.x) – 720×720
Versions before Jelly Bean will bring back lower resolution pictures for Gmail contacts in your contacts list. In addition, this may also reduce picture size to thumbnail.
Please note that this can change as manufacturers of Android devices can change the resolution how they wish.
