Stitcher recently updated to download your latest episodes automatically over Wi-Fi – whether it’s your Favorites or a custom playlist. We also continue to do so with Listen Later. For example, if you add shows to your Favorites, the latest episode for each of those shows will be downloaded for you.
Why? We did this to more closely align our app behavior with other podcast apps, make it simpler for users to listen without an internet connection, and generally to improve playback reliability.
Prefer Streaming? If you don’t like this setting and prefer to stream instead, just visit your Download Settings and toggle OFF for any playlist you’d like. Then, Stitcher will stop automatically downloading episodes for that playlist.
Storage Limit: We also allow you to set a Storage Limit in your Download Settings. Use this if you’d like to limit how much storage space is used by Stitcher. You can always come back and adjust your Storage Limit if needed.
