The "auto hunt" function has been implemented for convenience purpose, as contrarily to a PC or console game, players cannot always focus 100% on the screen of their mobile device.
The function is also very convenient at lower levels, while you get introduced to the many game systems one by one.
However from level 30+, you will have access to new contents such as real-time duel, real-time open field PvP, Raid Bosses or new Elite Dungeons which are usually better to be played manually (fully or partially).
You can also customize the auto function by tapping the small "Setting" button on top of the Auto Hunt button.
In particular you can:
– Set a fixed target, so that you won’t target another mob by mistake.
– Select what skills to use in auto: this is an important feature because if you deactivate all skills, you can basically use the auto for moving and targeting while you activate the skills manually, which is usually the best to optimise the skill cycle and dps. Note that you can also force a skill activation in auto as well.
– Select potions usage, meaning a potion will only be used once your HP or MP is below a certain threshold
Overall it is advised to switch and tweak the auto function frequently depending on the content you are playing.
