Battlelands Royale – Troubleshooting lag or connection issues

Battlelands Royale is an online multiplayer game, this means it’s essential that you are connected to a secure and stable network and your device signal is strong. If you often get disconnected from the servers or are experiencing lag issues, please take a moment to read this article. The first thing to check is if you are playing on the recommended server region, more info can be found in this FAQ article:What are the colours next to the server region names? Before we start with troubleshooting steps, please make sure that you have connected to Facebook from inside the game. A step-by-step guide can be found in this FAQ article:Keeping your account progress savedIf you have already logged into Facebook, your save file should be synced to the cloud, where it should be safe even if you delete/reinstall the game. If you have not done so before uninstalling the app, you can end up losing your progress.1. Reboot your device – this action frees up a lot of memory and can fix minor device related issues that may cause the game acting crazy at the moment.2. If you’re using an Android device, clear the Battlelands Royale data cache from your device Settings menu. Depending on your device and Android version the steps can differ a bit, but usually it’s something like:Settings > Apps > (Application list >) Battlelands > Storage > Clear Cache and reboot device afterwards. If you’re using an iOS device, you can skip this step as there is no cache clearing option.3. Delete the Battlelands Royale app and re-install it from the AppStore/Google Play Store. After the fresh reinstall:

  • Find the in-game Sync feature from the Settings menu
  • Use the same Facebook account as before to sync the game
  • When asked, choose to download the save file from the cloud. This overwrites your local save file with the one from the cloud and keeps the cloud save file updated as long as you have the Sync feature enabled

If after taking the above steps you find that you’re still experiencing connection issues, please check if you are using both Wi-Fi and mobile data at the same time and disable the mobile data on your device. We have found that mobile data connection is unreliable and can cause lag issues and disconnections. Once you disable the mobile data, please make sure your Wi-Fi connection is stable. You can run a speed test here. If you find that the results are not optimal, please:1. Restart your router2. Reboot your device again3. Run another test and check to see if the results have improved. If the steps above do not sort it out, we recommend getting in touch with your ISP (Internet Service Provider) and letting them know of the issue.
