If you would like to remove or turn on the push notifications, tap the gear button on the upper right corner to reach the Settings. Then tap the second gear button which will bring up another Settings page. Tap the Notifications button to make the green check mark appear if you want them turned on, or tap it make the green check mark disappear if you prefer them turned off. 
For Android users, you’ll have to go a step further and disable notifications through your phone settings. Here are some handy instructions!
