Safari Zone Postponement & Cancelation FAQ – Pokémon GO Guide

We are committed to the safety and well-being of our community. While we prefer never to see an event get postponed or canceled, we plan to postpone, cancel, and/or modify in-game events and adjust certain features to ensure Trainers can stay safe and continue enjoying Pokémon GO. This page will be updated periodically with postponement and cancelation information related to upcoming Safari Zone events.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Will this affect future events?Given the ever-changing landscape and varying degrees of impact from location to location, there is no one-size-fits-all solution across our live events. At this time, as an organization, we’ve decided to postpone Safari Zone events in St. Louis, Liverpool, and Philadelphia. If I purchased a ticket for a postponed event, can I attend the event when it is rescheduled?Non-refunded tickets will remain valid for when the event is held at a later date. However, if you don’t request a refund prior to the date and time specified, you won’t be able to request a refund for the rescheduled event at a later date.If I choose to keep my ticket and don’t want to travel to the event location, how does this work if I play locally? When playing locally, you will see the same in-game content that you would have experienced within the play area of the original event (Pokémon encounters and Special Research). This event gameplay will be visible in your app during the date and time noted on your event ticket. Please note that the event gameplay hours will be in YOUR local time, meaning if you have a ticket for Friday from 12 p.m.–6 p.m., you’ll see event content starting on Friday at 12 p.m. local time, wherever you are in the world. How do I get a refund? The original ticket purchaser can submit a request by contacting us through our in-app support and providing their order number; instructions for contacting support can be found at the top of this article. Please note that we can only fulfill a full refund of the entire purchase, and all ticket holders who get their tickets refunded (including players with gifted tickets) will be able to re-purchase tickets for the event once it is rescheduled. What if only some members of my ticket group don’t want to participate anymore?Unfortunately, we will not be able to provide partial refunds. If you request a refund, you’ll be reimbursed for the entire amount of your purchase and all tickets in your order will no longer be valid. However, you will still be able to purchase tickets again when the event is rescheduled. Will my City Explorer pass still work? If not, can I get a refund for it?If you purchased a City Explorer pass add-on, the bonus Incense and Lure duration, as well as the reduced Egg hatch distance, will be activated globally during the original event weekend, in your local time. The Explorer Raid and exclusive Field Research components will only be available during the rescheduled event. We are unfortunately unable to refund City Explorer Passes exclusively. If you would like a refund, your whole order will need to be refunded. Non-refunded City Explorer Passes will work as originally planned during the rescheduled Safari Zone event, and players will be able to buy tickets with City Explorer Passes for the rescheduled event.
