Help us keep Pokémon GO’s in-game locations true to the real word by suggesting improvements and corrections to existing PokéStops and Gyms!Players who’ve reached level 40 can suggest improvements to an in-game location’s title, description, real-world location, or photo.* Qualified players can also report an invalid PokéStop or Gym that meets our removal criteria. Please refer to the following guidelines before submitting suggestions for a PokéStop or Gym. Adherence to these guidelines may increase the chance of your suggestions being implemented.
Guidelines for Titles and Descriptions
- Official local languages are preferred, though titles and descriptions may be submitted in any language.
- Provide an official title wherever possible. Where there is no official title for the location (i.e., fountains and statues without names), we welcome creative titles to distinguish that location from similar locations.
- Include detailed information in descriptions that other players might find interesting: facts about the object, details about historical significance, etc. You can also use the description to tell why the PokéStop or Gym is unique, historical, or significant.
- Don’t include real names of players, Trainer nicknames, or team names in titles or descriptions.
- Don’t include HTML and/or URLs in titles or descriptions.
- Keep our Terms of Service in mind when suggesting descriptions.
Guidelines for Location Edits
- Provide exact locations whenever possible; we prefer having PokéStops and Gyms right on top of the real-world objects they represent.
- Avoid suggesting locations that are dangerous or within inaccessible areas, like private residences or schools.
Guidelines for Photos
- Take a clear photo. The easier it is to see what you’re submitting, the easier it can be evaluated. Take photos at a reasonable distance from the object and with suitable lighting.
- Low-quality photos might be rejected (i.e. pitch-black photos, blurry photos, or photos taken from a car).
- Avoid submitting photos that aren’t yours or contain identifiable people or faces.
Please note that we cannot make title/description edits or accept photo submissions to historical markers or sponsored locations. For historical markers, you can suggest edits at hmdb.org.*Some contribution features are currently only available in certain regions.
