Each farm has a small piece of land where items, buildings, animals, or plots can’t be placed. It is usually located at the top right corner for most farms with the exception of Fields of El Dorado and Haunted Hollow.
It might seem like the unusable space is wasted, but actually that small spot is marked by default for one of the buildable already present in the farm. This is why this spot is not usable.
