Is Lifesum already taking calories from sleep, sitting, etc. into consideration? – Lifesum guide

Lifesum’s calculations are based on the Mifflin – St Jeor equation and activity level. This equation is used in clinical settings to determine induviduals’ caloric needs based on their basal metabolic rate (BMR) and activity level. Since it is one of the most reliable method to calculate with the user information we have we have decided to use it for our calculations. When it comes to activity calories > calories like sleep, resting, sitting, daily normal movements are already included in the calculation. You can fine-tune the movements using the option “Activity Level” under Settings/Personal Details in the app. There you can choose between four different activity levels and choose the one that suits your lifestyle best. It is highly important to have the correct settings since it contributes to the calculation of your daily recommendations. That means that we are not importing any such activity (sleep, resting calories etc) from third party trackers.
